Iraq Awaits Advanced Air Defences and Radar Systems

Iraq is awaiting the arrival of advanced air defence systems and precision radars as it moves to strengthen its defences, according to Sabah al-Numan, spokesman for the commander-in-chief of the Iraqi armed forces.

Al-Numan said the expected equipment includes medium- and long-range radars, alongside systems designed to counter aerial threats.

The planned additions also include missile systems capable of intercepting missiles and drones, expanding the range of threats Iraq’s air defences can address.

The announcement did not specify when the systems would arrive, their suppliers or the quantities involved. It also gave no details on where the equipment would be deployed.
