Iran Warns of Forceful Response if Israel Launches New War

Iran’s chief of staff has warned that Tehran would respond forcefully if Israel miscalculates and launches a new war against the country.

The warning comes amid US mobilisation and Israeli moves, with Tehran signalling that the consequences of another conflict would not be confined to the two adversaries.

The Iranian military chief framed the threat of retaliation as a response to a possible Israeli attack, rather than announcing plans to initiate hostilities.

By warning that the flames of war would reach everyone, Tehran underscored the risk of a wider conflict. The statement did not specify what form an Iranian response would take.
