Katz Denies Preparations for Attack on Iran, Says Military on High Alert

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz denied early Sunday that Israel was preparing to launch an attack on Iran ahead of elections.

Katz said the Israeli military was on its highest level of alert, citing the possibility of an Iranian attack.

He framed the heightened readiness as a precaution against a potential strike by Iran, rather than preparation for an Israeli offensive.

His remarks drew a distinction between the military’s alert status and the claim that Israel was planning an attack before the vote.
