Trump Says He Will Accept Midterm Results if Elections Are ‘Fair’
Automated summary•27 October 2026 at 18:15
US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he would accept the results of the upcoming congressional midterm elections, provided the vote is “fair.”
The elections are scheduled for next week, putting his remarks just days ahead of the vote.
Trump’s pledge to recognize the outcome was conditional, rather than an unconditional commitment to accept the results.
His stated requirement places the fairness of the election at the center of whether he will acknowledge its outcome.
