US Expels Two Members of Iranian Delegation to UN

The US State Department announced Saturday that two members of the Iranian delegation that attended United Nations General Assembly meetings had been expelled from the United States.

The pair had remained in the country despite an order requiring them to leave, according to the announcement.

Their continued presence after the departure order was the reason given for the expulsions. The brief announcement did not identify either delegation member or describe their roles.

No further details were provided about when the departure order was issued or how long the two had stayed in the United States after being told to leave.
