UN Women Official Praises Egypt’s Strategy for Women’s Empowerment

Marwa Alam El-Din, acting representative of UN Women and programme director in Egypt, has praised the country for developing a strategy to empower women in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Alam El-Din said Egypt was among the first countries to put in place a women’s empowerment strategy aligned with the global development framework.

Her remarks highlighted the link between Egypt’s approach to empowering women and the broader international agenda for sustainable development.

The recognition focused on the strategy’s early adoption and its alignment with that framework, rather than specific implementation results.
