Egypt’s Veterinary Syndicate Chief Discusses Internship Year and Financial Parity with MPs’ Education Chair

Dr Magdy Hassan, head of Egypt’s General Syndicate of Veterinarians, met with Dr Ashraf El-Shihy, chairman of the House of Representatives’ Education and Scientific Research Committee, to discuss the veterinary internship year.

The meeting formed part of the syndicate’s ongoing follow-up on the internship issue, with discussions focusing on separating the internship year and securing financial parity.

The brief account did not specify what the proposed separation would entail or which financial arrangements the syndicate seeks to bring into line.

The talks brought the syndicate’s concerns before the parliamentary committee responsible for education and scientific research. No agreement, decision or timetable for further action was reported.
