Angelina Jolie: Satellite Images Show Gaza’s Destruction but Not the Full Tragedy

The Gaza Cinema Academy has praised Angelina Jolie for drawing attention to the scale of destruction in Gaza and its humanitarian consequences.

Jolie’s message highlighted the limits of satellite imagery: while it can reveal physical devastation, it cannot convey the full tragedy experienced by people in the territory.

The academy welcomed her role in keeping the human impact of the destruction in focus, beyond what can be seen in images taken from above.

It also stressed the importance of artists continuing to bring the suffering of Gaza’s residents to international attention, keeping their plight visible on the world stage.
