Egypt Detected 4 Million Hepatitis C Cases and Provided Treatment, Health Minister Says

Egypt identified 4 million hepatitis C cases and provided treatment for those diagnosed, Health and Population Minister Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said.

The minister cited the findings while discussing the development of a clear national health strategy and the need to establish an accurate picture of the healthcare system.

Abdel Ghaffar said the process began with a detailed assessment of the system’s current condition, including its strengths and weaknesses.

He stressed that understanding that starting point was the first step in setting a clear direction for national health policy.
