Ukraine Puts 2026 War Costs at $155 Billion

Ukraine’s total war costs are expected to reach $155 billion in 2026, Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky said on Wednesday, as Kyiv works to close a funding gap.

The government is seeking to cover a $27 billion shortfall to ensure it can conduct effective military operations on the battlefield at the start of 2027.

The $155 billion estimate covers the current year alone, underscoring the scale of the financial burden facing Ukraine.

Koretsky’s remarks linked Kyiv’s immediate financing needs to its military readiness next year, with closing the gap a priority for sustaining battlefield operations.
