Egypt’s Finance Minister Calls for Greater AIIB Role in Development Funding

Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk has called for an expanded role for the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in providing development financing that meets member countries’ needs.

Kouchouk said Egypt looked forward to strengthening the bank’s contribution to financing development across its membership.

His remarks placed member countries’ needs at the centre of the proposed expansion, stressing the importance of funding that responds to those requirements.
