Third US Aircraft Carrier Reportedly Heads to Middle East

The United States has reportedly dispatched the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt to the Middle East, adding to its naval deployment in the region.

The carrier is travelling with its battle group. Its deployment would make it the third US aircraft carrier heading to or operating in the Middle East, according to the report.

The move comes as President Donald Trump signals that he could intensify the bombing of Iran after the US midterm elections.

The reported deployment places the carrier movement alongside Washington’s threats of further military action, though no direct link between the Roosevelt’s mission and a specific bombing plan was established.
