Raids Across 19 European Countries Target Suspected ‘Million-Phone’ Fraud

Police have been carrying out raids in 19 European countries since last Saturday as part of an investigation into suspected fraud involving mobile phones sold online, the European Public Prosecutor’s Office announced.

The suspected scheme, described as the “million-phone” scam, is estimated to have caused losses of around €300 million ($340 million).
