Industry Minister Calls for Linking Mineral Extraction to Manufacturing

Egypt’s Minister of Industry, Khaled Hashem, highlighted the development of integrated value chains in the mining sector, linking mineral extraction with manufacturing.

Hashem took part in a panel discussion titled “Aligning Mineral Resource Development with Industrial Growth” on the sidelines of the fifth edition of the Egypt Mining Forum.

His remarks focused on connecting mining activity with industrial production, placing the development of mineral resources within a broader manufacturing framework.

The approach outlined by the minister centres on an integrated chain from extraction to manufacturing, rather than treating the two activities as separate stages of economic development.
