US Companies Develop Voice-Control System for Tanks

Two companies in the United States are developing a system designed to let operators control tanks through spoken commands, potentially changing how crews interact with the vehicles.

The project aims to make voice instructions a means of control. The available information does not specify which tank functions the system would manage or whether it would work alongside existing controls.

The companies’ names, the technology’s stage of development and any timetable for deployment have not been disclosed in the brief description of the project.

Its battlefield value would depend on how reliably it could interpret commands under demanding conditions. Questions about background noise, conflicting instructions and safeguards against unintended actions remain unanswered.
