Tourism Minister Inspects Excavation Training at Saqqara

Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, visited the Saqqara archaeological area today to inspect training at an excavation school for beginners.

The programme is organised by the Central Training Unit in the minister’s office, in cooperation with the Czech Institute of Egyptology.

Fathy’s visit focused on the training activities under way at the school, which is intended for those beginning their work in archaeological excavation.

The school brings together the ministry’s training unit and the Czech institute to provide beginner-level excavation training at Saqqara.
