Ahmed El-Wakil Unanimously Elected to Lead African Chambers Union

Ahmed El-Wakil has been elected president of the Union of African Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Professions, in a leadership vote focused on shaping a new economic roadmap.

The union’s board unanimously backed El-Wakil, giving him its full support to lead the organization.

Dr. Alaa Ezz was also unanimously elected secretary-general, filling another key position in the union’s leadership.

The appointments put El-Wakil and Ezz at the helm of a body whose remit spans commerce, industry, agriculture and professional sectors across Africa.
