Sisi’s Address Is a National Security Document, Egyptian Military Expert Says

Major General Dr Ayman Salama, a military and strategic affairs expert, described President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s address to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces as “a document for Egyptian national security.”

Salama’s assessment placed national security at the centre of his reading of the president’s remarks, delivered during a meeting of the council.

The expert also characterised October as an approach to follow, rather than simply an anniversary to commemorate.

His comments linked that view of October with the significance he attached to Sisi’s address, presenting both in terms of their relevance to Egypt’s security outlook.
