Mohamed Qashqoush Recalls His Service in the 1973 October War

Major General Mohamed Qashqoush has shared details of his military service during the 1973 October War, recalling his role as a paratrooper company commander.

Qashqoush said he held the rank of major at the time and commanded a company in the 75th Paratrooper Battalion.

His account highlighted a wartime posting that preceded his later work as an adviser on military and strategic affairs.

Recognized as one of the October War’s heroes, Qashqoush now serves as an adviser at the Higher Military Academy for Strategic Studies and to the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs.
