Civil Society a Partner in Strengthening Social Protection, Says National Alliance Member

Mohamed Refai, a member of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, stressed the importance of civil society organisations in supporting state efforts to improve Egypt’s social support system.

Refai highlighted their role in strengthening social protection, describing civil society as a partner in efforts to support those most in need.

He also emphasised the importance of making assistance more effectively targeted, so that support reaches the groups with the greatest need.

His remarks focused on two linked priorities: developing the social support system and improving its ability to identify and serve vulnerable groups, with civil society contributing alongside the state.
