Egypt Has Potential to Become Regional Energy Trading Hub, Expert Says

Egypt has the foundations needed to become a regional hub for energy trading, according to energy expert Dr. Ali Abdel Nabi.

Abdel Nabi, a former deputy head of the Nuclear Materials Authority, identified securing foreign currency and attracting investment as the most pressing challenges facing Egypt’s energy sector at present.

His assessment highlighted both the country’s potential in regional energy trade and the financial hurdles confronting the sector.

Access to foreign currency and investment were central to his remarks, placing financing at the heart of the challenges Egypt faces as it seeks to advance its energy ambitions.
