Egypt Leads Efforts to Strengthen African Integration, Professor Says

Egypt is playing a leading role in efforts to strengthen African integration, according to Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim El-Shimi, a professor of international relations.

El-Shimi pointed to Egypt’s hosting of the African Union’s eighth coordination summit as a reflection of its importance in supporting integration across the continent.

The summit is being hosted in the Egyptian city of Alamein, placing the country at the centre of the continental coordination gathering.

The professor’s assessment linked Egypt’s role as host to its broader support for African integration, highlighting the significance of the gathering beyond its venue.
