Six Novels Compete on Booker Prize Shortlist Ahead of November Announcement

The winner of the Booker Prize, one of the most prestigious awards in literature, will be announced on November 9, with six novels competing on the shortlist.

The finalists were selected by a judging panel chaired by Mary Beard, the classical scholar.

Her fellow judges include poet Raymond Antrobus and Jarvis Cocker, the singer of the band Pulp, bringing literary and musical perspectives to the panel.

The shortlist marks the final stage of the competition before the winner is revealed. The supplied announcement does not identify the six novels or their authors.
