Jazan Highlights Cultural Memory on World Day for Audiovisual Heritage

Jazan is marking World Day for Audiovisual Heritage by highlighting the importance of documenting its cultural legacy through images and sound.

The focus is on audiovisual records as a means of preserving social memory, keeping details of local life accessible to future generations.

Images and sound offer complementary ways to record that heritage. Together, they can convey aspects of community life that written accounts alone may not fully capture.

The occasion underscores the value of documentation in maintaining links between generations, allowing those who come later to encounter the cultural memory of Jazan through both sight and sound.
