Egypt’s Government Faces October Accountability Test, Says Nashat El-Deehy

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly is preparing to hold a conference in October to present an account of the government’s performance, media presenter Nashat El-Deehy said.

According to El-Deehy, the planned conference will give the government an opportunity to address the public candidly about its work.

He described the occasion as an accountability test for the government before both the president and the Egyptian people, placing scrutiny of its performance at the centre of the event.

El-Deehy’s remarks did not specify a date for the conference beyond October or detail which areas of government performance would be covered.
