Egypt Launches 50 Aragoz Performances in Urgent Safeguarding Effort

A programme of 50 Aragoz performances has been launched in Egypt to raise awareness of the traditional hand-puppet art as part of an urgent safeguarding effort.

The performances fall under the project “Safeguarding Heritage and Building Capacities for the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Aragoz and Traditional Hand Puppets in Egypt.”

The initiative brings public performances into a wider effort focused on safeguarding the art and strengthening capacities to preserve its intangible cultural heritage.

By presenting Aragoz to audiences, the programme aims to draw attention to the tradition and its preservation. The announcement did not specify performance venues or dates.
