Essam Darwish Celebrates Rural Egypt’s Heroes in ‘Authentically Egyptian’ Exhibition

Artist and sculptor Essam Darwish is celebrating the heroes of rural Egypt in his exhibition “Authentically Egyptian” at Al-Mashhad Gallery.

Former Local Development Minister Hisham Sherif opened the exhibition yesterday evening, with figures from Egypt’s arts and literary communities in attendance.

Among those present were artist Ahmed Nawar and writer Mohamed Salmawy, who joined Darwish for the opening.

The exhibition places rural Egyptians at the heart of Darwish’s artistic tribute, with its title underscoring that focus on Egyptian identity.
