Egypt tackled crises while pursuing development projects, says Emad El-Din Hussein

Egypt has confronted successive crises while continuing to implement development projects, journalist and editor-in-chief Emad El-Din Hussein said.

Hussein described the conditions Egypt has faced since the events of January 25 as extremely difficult, pointing to instability and a halt in economic activity.

His remarks highlighted the pressures on the state during that period, when economic disruption compounded the challenges posed by instability.

Hussein said the state’s response to those crises ran alongside its development efforts, rather than the two being addressed in separate stages.
