Egypt’s Agricultural Exports Exceed 9.5 Million Tonnes, Ahmed Ramadan Says

Egypt’s agricultural exports have surpassed 9.5 million tonnes, agricultural expert Dr Ahmed Ramadan said, highlighting the sector’s contribution to the national economy.

Ramadan praised the state’s efforts to manage available water resources, a key concern for agricultural production.

He noted that agriculture consumes more than 80% of those resources, underscoring the sector’s large share of national water use.

His remarks brought together two central issues for Egyptian agriculture: its role in supporting the economy through exports and the importance of managing the water resources on which production depends.
