Egypt’s Supply Ministry Says Discounts of Up to 25% Cover 30 Essential Goods

Egypt’s price-reduction initiative has expanded to cover around 30 essential goods, with discounts ranging from 20% to 25%, according to the Ministry of Supply.

Ahmed Kamal, assistant supply minister and the ministry’s spokesman, said the initiative now includes a broader range of basic commodities.

The initiative is set to continue until March 2027, extending the period during which the price reductions will be available.

The stated discounts vary across the goods covered, with reductions reaching a maximum of 25%. The announcement did not provide a breakdown of the products or their individual prices.
