Qatar Presents Iran With Draft Agreement Setting Seven-Day Confidence-Building Period

Qatari mediators presented Iran with a new draft agreement in Tehran on Sunday, according to an official familiar with the matter.

The proposal includes a seven-day timeframe to address concerns on both sides. The period is intended to build confidence as part of the mediation effort.

The official’s account did not identify the other party to the proposed agreement or specify the concerns that would need to be addressed.

Details of the draft’s terms and any Iranian response were not provided. The account described the presentation of a proposal, rather than an agreement accepted by the parties.
