Mahmoud Al-Mannai Releases New Short Story Collection ‘The Thief of Sorrows’

Dar Al-Rida has published “The Thief of Sorrows,” a new short story collection by writer Mahmoud Al-Mannai.

The collection takes the duality of pain and hope as its starting point, placing their relationship at the centre of its literary premise.

Rather than treating these themes simply as a backdrop to events, the work presents them as integral to its storytelling.

The title echoes that focus on sorrow, while the collection’s stated premise brings hope into the same frame, establishing a tension between the two.
