Repeated Al-Aqsa Incursions Threaten Status Quo, Palestinian Institute Director Warns

Repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque threaten to alter the status quo at the site, Major General Habis al-Sharouf, director of the Palestine Institute for National Security Research, has warned.

Al-Sharouf pointed to the participation of ministers in the Israeli government in the incursions, highlighting the involvement of political officials.

He also cited growing numbers of settlers taking part, identifying their increased presence as another element of the repeated incursions.

His warning focused on the cumulative threat posed by these actions to the existing arrangements at Al-Aqsa.
