Attempt to Steal Iron Railings Discovered on Esna’s Nile Corniche

Sanitation officials in Esna, south of Luxor, uncovered an attempt to steal iron sections from the city’s Nile Corniche railing.

The suspected thieves had dismantled part of the railing and concealed the detached metal in preparation for taking it away.

The discovery brought the attempted theft to light before the hidden sections were removed from the site, according to the brief account.

No further details were provided about the amount of railing dismantled or whether any suspects had been identified or arrested.
